You will need –
400 gms Palak (spinach) leaves, 4 cups sour butter milk, 2 tblsp. gram flour, 2 tblsp. peanuts, 2 tblsp. gram dal, 4 green chillies, 2 tblsp. oil, 1 tsp. cumin seeds, 1/8 tsp. asafoetida, 1/2 tsp. turmeric, salt to taste.
Soak the gram dal and peanuts in warm water for half an hour. Wash and chop the Palak leaves and pressure cook them along with the dal and peanuts. Add the gram flour to the cooked Palak, mix well, mashing the Palak. as much as possible. Heat the oil, add cumin seeds and green chilli pieces, asafoetida and turmeric (optional). Add Palak mixture, mix well and pour butter milk into it. Add salt and again mix well; adjusting the consistency by adding enough water to make a thickish kadhi. Boil for 5 minutes, remove.
