Chilli Paneer

Serves 4


  • 1-1/2 tbsp cornflour
  • 1-1/2 tbsp maida
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 125 gms paneer
  • 1-1/2 tsp soya sauce
  • 1 tbsp chilli sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 4-5 slit green chillies
  • 4-5 flakes crushed garlic – optional
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander
  • 1/4 tsp each of ajinomoto, sugar
  • 1/4 tsp each of salt, pepper


  1. Cut paneer into 1/2″ cubes.
  2. Mix corn flour, maida and salt in a bowl. Add enough water to make a batter of thick pouring consistency such that it coats the paneer.
  3. Dip each piece of paneer in batter and deep fry to a golden brown colour.
  4. Heat 2 tbsp oil. Fry the green chillies and garlic. Reduce heat. Add salt, pepper, sugar and ajinomoto.
  5. Add soya sauce, tomato sauce and chilli sauce.
  6. Add the fried paneer and coriander. Mix well.
  7. Cook for a few seconds till the sauces coat the paneer.
  8. Serve hot.
